• How to Connect Your Wii U to the TV

  1. Connect the HDMI cable to your TV and to the back of the Wii U console.

  2. Plug in the power adapter. (Safety tip: Ensure your hands are dry when handling the plug and the console).

  3. Press the Power button on the console or the GamePad to turn it on.

  4. Check your TV input. If the picture doesn't appear, make sure you have selected the correct HDMI channel/source based on the port you plugged the cable into.

  5. Troubleshoot via the GamePad. If there is still no picture on the TV, turn on the GamePad. Go to Settings and scroll to the right until you see the icon shown in the image below.

  • Click on the TV icon, then select your connection type.

  • If you are using an HDMI cable, select HDMI. If you are using AV cables, select AV.

  • If you chose HDMI, you will then need to select your resolution, or you can simply press the X button to auto-detect the best resolution for your TV.

B) How to Connect a Hard Drive (HDD)

Plug both USB connectors from the HDD into the ports at the back of your console. Refer to the image below for the correct placement.

C) Things to Avoid

• Avoid connecting the HDD to a computer: Doing so may prompt the computer to format the drive, which will erase all your Wii U games.

• Do not remove the memory card (SD card) from the Wii U console while it is in use or powered on.

• Set up "Parental Controls": If you are letting children play, ensure you have configured the Parental Controls in the System Settings. This helps prevent children from accidentally opening Homebrew applications (like the Homebrew Launcher) that could interfere with the system.

• Exercise caution with Homebrew: Avoid using Homebrew tools if you are unsure of how they work, as improper use can lead to system issues.

D) How to Download Games

1. Navigate the menu and look for a folder named "Plugin."

2. Open that folder and launch the homebrew app named "NUSspli."

3. Check your connection: Ensure your Wii U is connected to Wi-Fi before proceeding.

4. Select and download: Choose your game, but pay close attention to the Region.

   • For games in Japanese, select the one with the Japanese flag.

   • For games in English, select the one with the USA or EU flag.

Important: Handling Updates

If an update prompt appears when you launch a game, cancel the update. Instead, go back into NUSspli to perform the update there. If you allow the system to auto-update, the game language might revert to Japanese.

Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Issues

Is your Wi-Fi signal dropping? Avoid placing any objects on top of the Wii U console. Keeping the top of the console clear ensures the Wi-Fi antenna has a stable connection.

Note: System Safety

When you are finished playing or using an app, always close the game/app properly before turning off the console. Failure to do so can cause issues with your bootloader and system stability.
